Background

Izykhsky Coal Mine (Изыхский разрез) is a surface mine near the town Belyy Yar, in Altaysky District, Khakassia Republic, Russia.[4]

Izykhsky coal mine has four different sections. The last section 4 was developed in 2008.[5] As of 2022, mining works were conducted in section 4.[6]

Izykhsky coal mine is owned and operated by SUEK-Khakassiya JSC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK).[4]

According to information on the website of SUEK AG (the export arm of SUEK), the Izykhsky coal mine does not supply coal for exports, in Khakassiya only the Chernogorsky coal mine and Vostochno-Beisky coal mine do.[7]

At the end of November 2022, the coal mine met its annual plan of 1.2 million tonnes.[6]
