The Jawahar Khani-5 Opencast Coal Mine Project of 2.5 MTPA capacity over an area of 514.95 Ha is operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, in villages Sudimalla and Usirikayalapalli, Mandal Yellandu, District Bhadradri Kothagudem, State Telangana, India. The project first received its environment clearance for 2 MTPA on 18 May, 2009 and got environment clearance for an expansion to 2.5 MTPA on 3 March, 2016.[6]
