Background

The original power station consisted of seven subcritical 135 MW coal-burning units commissioned in 2008. In 2011 a 270 MW expansion of the existing coal-fired power station was commissioned. The expansion, which comprised two 135 MW units, is referred to as Jharsuguda CPP Units 8 & 9. The plant is owned and operated by Vedanta Resources.[1]

China's SEPCOIII was involved in engineering and construction of the plant.[2]
