Background

PT Kadya Caraka Mulia (KCM) was established on January 18, 1988. On May 31, 1999, KCM signed a third-generation coal contract with the Indonesian government (PKP2B). After completing the construction of its mining facilities and infrastructure, the company started coal production in late 2006. Its mining area is located in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, and encompasses 4,628 hectares of land consisting of two mining blocks: North Block and South Block.[1]

In 2014, the company restructured all mining subsidiaries to be coordinated under PT Tuah Turangga Agung (Turangga Resources), with 40% and 60% shares owning of the Company and PAMA respectively. This process was deemed necessary by the Company, as there was a need to improve operational efficiency and excellence through a more focused management of subsidiaries in order to increase the performance of coal production and trading.[3]
