Background

KIC Metaliks Ltd. was incorporated on 26th August 1986 and commissioned its  pig iron unit in Raturia Industrial area in February 1998 by setting up one Mini Blast Furnace of volume 215 m3 with production capacity of 109 ttpa.[1] The mini blast furnace has subsequently upgraded to a capacity of 235 ttpa.[2]

KIC Metaliks proposed to expand its pig iron plant to 598 ttpa integrated steel plant by introducing DRI kilns, electric arc furnace and induction furnaces.[3] As of October 2025, there has been no update on the expansion project.
