Background

The Kamyshansky-West coal mine or Kamyshansky-Zapadny coal mine (Камышанский-Западный разрез) is a proposed coal mine near Kiselyovsk, Prokopyevsk municipal district in Kemerovo region, Russia. The Kamyshansky-West coal mine is developed by Resurs LLC (OOO "Ресурс"). It appears that the land rights were acquired by Resurs LLC in 2015 in an auction.[2]

The project is part of the Russian Government's 'Programme for the Coal Industry Development to 2035', published in June 2020.[3] A full range of exploration work has been completed at the proposed mine site, according to the Programme. Additionally, a feasibility study was developed for permanent exploratory conditions; the permanent exploration conditions were approved; land lease was issued; construction of transport communications completed to the site as well as power supply facilities.[3] In August 2021 the project was approved by Glavgosekspertiza.[4]

As there were no updates on the progress of the project as of August 2022 and as of August 2023, the project was therefore considered Shelved. Likewise as of March 2025, there was no new on project progress.
