There is a good correlation between the area of mine boundaries found in this research project, and the 'Mine Size (Km2)' area found in the GEM Global Coal Mine Tracker May 2025 (GCMT) database (R-squared=0.68). A circular boundary with the area from the GCMT for this mine was created as an estimated boundary.
