Background

The pipeline is part of ONTRAS' "doing hydrogen" project, which appears in ENTSOG's 2022 updated TYNDP project list, and has been approved by the German energy authority for application for IPCEI funding.

Once it is operational, this pipeline will carry hydrogen in concert with natural gas, and will connect to the Green Octopus Mitteldeutschland and other parts of the envisioned German hydrogen network.
