Background

The pipeline is owned and operated by H-Energy.[1] Proposed in May 2018, the project would transport RLNG to itinda for custody transfer at India-Bangladesh border for subsequent distribution to Bangladeshi customers/pipeline companies. [6] The project potentially duplicates parts of the proposed Jagadishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline (JHBDPL).[7]

On February 23, 2021, H-Energy signed an MOU with Syama Prasad Port, Kolkata for LNG Re-gasification Terminal Project which also includes the 125 km Kukrahati-Itinda Gas Pipeline.[3][2]

However, there have been no new development updates since then, and as of July 2025 this project is presumed cancelled.
