Lao Cai Cast Iron and Steel Tang Long plant, also known as LCCISP, Viet - Trung Metallurgy Company, is a steel plant in Tang Long Town, Lào Cai, Vietnam that operates basic oxygen furnace (BOF) and blast furnace (BF) technology.
In 2004, Vietnam Steel Corporation, the Lao Cai Mineral Company and China's Kunming Steel Group joined hands to exploit iron ores and build the first steel plant in Vietnam's northern Lao Cai Province.[1] The construction of the plant commenced in 2011.[2] The plant was inaugurated in 2014 with an initial capacity of 500 ttpa.[3] The plant resumed its blast furnace operation in 2025 after 3 years of inactivity due to many reasons[4].
