Background

Amsteel Mills Sdn Bhd owns and operates the Lion Industries Amsteel II and Lion Industries Amsteel I plants in Klang, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.[1] Both the plants produce long steel products.[2] Amsteel Mills' first rolling mill was commissioned in 1978 in Klang.[3] The Lion Industries group is planning an expansion of the plant's crude iron capacity, which was anticipated to be completed in 2021.[4] The expansion involves a 3,000 cubic metres BF, sinter plant, coke oven and two converters.[5] No updates on completion have been published as of March 2022.
