Mammoth Mine

Mammoth Mine is owned by Massey Energy and includes "three underground room and pillar mines and a preparation plant. Coal is transported to the plant using a continuous 12 mile conveyor system. The plant was upgraded in 2008 and now ships coal via the Norfolk Southern railway or via barge on the upper Kanawha River."[1] The plant has a 1,200 tons per hour processing facility capacity.[2]
