Background

Metinvest planned to replace some steel-making capacity at Metinvest Ilyich Iron & Steel Works or Metinvest Zaporizhstal steel plants with EAF technology.[1] The company suspended all investment projects due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[2] Given the lack of other updates, the plant is presumed to be mothballed.
