Background

Metinvest planned to replace some steel-making capacity at Metinvest Ilyich Iron & Steel Works or Metinvest Zaporizhstal steel plants with EAF technology. The company suspended all investment projects due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Given the lack of other updates, the plant is presumed to be mothballed.
