Background
Mine at Deo Nai is operated by Deo Nai Coal Company, a subsidiary of Vietnam National Coal (Vinacomin), in Cam Pha, Vietnam.[15] The mine is operated by Deo Nai Coal Company, a subsidiary of Vietnam National Coal (Vinacomin).[15] The mine produces anthracite, the coal type characteristic of the wider Quảng Ninh coalfield, which holds the large majority of Vietnam's coal reserves.[16]
As of a 2023 report, the mine employed 1,865 people, of whom 1,654 were direct production workers; from 2017 to 2022, the mine's overall coal output totaled more than 13.6 million tonnes, with roughly 124.5 million cubic meters of overburden removed and more than 13.5 million tonnes of coal sold over that period.[17]
Effective July 1, 2024, it was consolidated with the adjacent Coc Sau mine into a single company, Deo Nai – Coc Sau Coal Joint Stock Company – TKV, following a shareholder-approved restructuring.[18]
As of 2025, an industry report described a subsequent 2,075-billion-đồng expansion project for the merged Coc Sau–Deo Nai operations aimed at raising combined output above 2.5 million tonnes per year.[19]
