Mughal Iron & Steel Industries Lahore plant, also known as MISIL, Mughal Steels, is a steel plant in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan that operates induction furnace (IF) technology.

Background

Mughal Steels began as a small production unit in Lahore, Pakistan called "Al-Bashir Steel Industries (Private) Limited" in 1958. Mughal Steels was established in 1998. Mughal Steel imported and established its induction furnaces in 1999.[1] Company reports indicate the facility has a total of 590 thousand tons per year in annual steelmaking capacity, split between eleven induction furnaces.[2] It most recently expanded in 2022, adding two new furnaces.[3]
