NLMK Lipetsk steel plant (Новолипецкий металлургический комбинат (Russian)), also known as Novolipetsk Steel; Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works; NLMZ (predecessor), is a blast furnace-basic oxygen furnace (BF-BOF) steel plant operating in Lipetsk, Russia.

Background

The plant began operating in 1934, when the first blast furnace was launched.[1] In 1966, the basic oxygen furnace shop was launched at the plant.[1]

NLMK Lipetsk produced 80% of NLMK's total crude steel output for 2018.[2] NLMK Lipetsk and Altai-Koks coke plants operate as part of a single manufacturing network.[3]
