Novasco Hagondange steel plant, also known as Ascometal Hagondange (predecessor), is a steel plant in Hagondange, Grand-Est, France that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

The Ascometal Hagondange steel plant experienced prolonged idling following repeated financial restructurings of its owner, Ascometal, later renamed NovAsco. In November 2025, the Commercial Court of Strasbourg approved a partial takeover of NovAsco that excluded the Hagondange site, confirming the permanent closure of the plant after no buyer came forward to assume operations.
