The Orion Group is a diversified Bangldesh company which states on its website that it has interests in "in the Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics & Toiletries, Infrastructure Development, Real Estate & Construction, Power, High-tech Agro Products, Hospitality, Textiles & Garments, Aviation Management sectors."[1]
Proposed coal plants
The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has proposed a major expansion of power generation capacity and is promoting the involvement of private producer on a "build-own-operate" (BOO) basis. The Orion Group has interests in three coal-fired power generation projects. These are:
