Background

The import terminal was proposed to supply fuel to the Payra LNG power station.[1] They were proposed in 2017.[2]

In August 2022, the Bangladesh government cancelled the power station, and the LNG terminal is presumed to be cancelled as well.[2] The Payra LNG FSRU offshore import terminal is also proposed and appears to be unaffected by the cancellation of the onshore terminal.
