Pontiki Mine

Pontiki Mine an underground mining complex located near the city of Inez in Martin County, Kentucky, owned by Alliance Resource Partners. The mine was constructed in 1977. Pontiki utilizes continuous mining units employing room-and-pillar mining techniques to produce low-sulfur coal from the Pontiki Van Lear Mine. The preparation plant has a throughput capacity of 900 tons of raw coal an hour.[1]
