Background

The Porto de Sergipe I power station, which began commercial operations in March 2020[13], was originally owned by a consortium headed by New Fortress Energy[14]; in October 2022 Eneva SA acquired 100% ownership of the plant.[15] The project is fueled with liquefied natural gas imported through the Sergipe FSRU LNG terminal.[16]

As of October 2022, Eneva SA was contemplating future development of three additional units (Porto Sergipe III, IV and V) depending on market conditions.[17]
