Qinhuangdao Hongxing Iron and Steel Co Ltd (秦皇岛宏兴钢铁有限公司, 昌黎县宏兴实业有限公司), also known as Changli Hongxing Industrial Co., Ltd., is a steel plant in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China that operates blast furnace (BF) and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) technology.

Background

The company's capacity replacement project plans to build 2 BF(1200m3) and 3 BOF(100-ton).[1] The project is constructed in two phases. The first phase is the construction of one 1,200-m3 blast furnace and two 100-ton basic oxygen furnaces; the second phase is the construction of one 1,200-m3 blast furnace and one 100-ton basic oxygen furnace. After the completion of the project, the annual output of molten iron is 2 million tons and crude steel is 3 million tons.[2] One of the blast furnaces was completed in 2020, and the two 580m3 of blast furnaces used for replacement have been demolished.[3] The two 65-ton basic oxygen furnaces used for replacement have also been dismantled in June 2021.[4]
