Background

Razrez Raspadsky Koksvoy coal mine (разрез Распадский Коксовый) is a SURFACE mine in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia.

It is not to be confused with Raspadskaya-Koksovaya coal mine (underground mine). Raspadskaya PJSC owns the mine, it is in turned owned by Evraz. Evraz announced in December 2021 that it is planning to spin off Raspadskaya Coal Company, but these plans were cancelled in March 2022 due to the sanctions against Russia.[6]

The Razrez Raspadsky Koksovy is the youngest mine of Raspadskaya founded in 2017.[7] The mine produces scarce metallurgical coal grades OS and KS.[7] As of in mid-2022, the mine was gearing up for future growth.[8] In 2021 an entire set of quarry equipment was purchased for the Raspadsky-Koksovy mine. It consisted of 46 units: excavators, dump trucks, tracked and wheeled bulldozers and graders. This helped to reduce the enterprise’s operating costs by 30% compared with the use of equipment from contractors.[9]

All coal is supplied to the companies of Evraz.[8]
