SIJ Acroni Jesenice steel plant, also known as Jesenice Steelworks (predecessor), is a steel plant in Koroška Bela, Jesenice, Slovenia that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background
The SIJ Acroni steel plant in Jesenice was a major part of the Yugoslavian steel industry. Its first Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) open in 1987 and pioneered new technologies for making stainless steel.[1] The plant likewise closed its last blast furnace in the 1980s, and as of 2026, the plant operated one EAF unit, with an annual capacity of 726 thousand tonnes of steel.[2] The feedstock for this unit is nearly 100% recycled scrap steel.[2]
In 2023, production at the plant was suspended for several months due to an accident.[3]
