Background

The Sabalan Iron and Steel Complex is a plant under construction which, when finished, is planned to have a capacity of 0.4 million tons per year of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and 0.5 million tons per year of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steel.[1]
