Saiod deposit is located 67 km to northeast of Dushanbe city, in Vakhdat district, at the southwestern end of the Karategin range, on the left bank of the Pendema river valley.

The annual volume of coal production is about 40 thousand tonnes, as of 2017. The mine is not mentioned as one of the main producers in the recent media reports in 2019-2022.
