Background

Sarmad Iron and Steel Complex began operating as 450 ttpa capacity rolling mill in December 2016. As of 2022, they have begun construction to add 600 ttpa of electric arc furnace steelmaking capacity. As of 2023, they have announced plans to add 1200 ttpa of direct-reduced ironmaking capacity.[1]
