Background

In March 2018, West China’s Shaanxi Iron & Steel Group announced their plans to develop two steelmaking projects in Indonesia. One of projects involve a steel complex in Indonesia with a capacity of 7.5 million tonnes per annum, in partnership with Shandong Fuhai Group, which already operates a mine in Indonesia.[1] The second one is a Shaanxi Steel Industrial Park, which will produce 3 mtpa of flat and long steel.[2]
