Background

Shakambhari Ispat & Power Limited (SIPL) was incorporated in 2001 as Ma Chhinnamastika Steel & Power Pvt. Ltd.[1] The plant was shut down in August 2010 as it was making loss.[2] Later in December 2010, the company was acquired by Shakambhari Group and the name of the company was changed to Shakambhari Ispat & Power Limited.[1] The company has proposed to expand its capacity from 523.95 ttpa to 787.5 ttpa.[3]
