South Korea hydrogen DRI plant expansion is a 3000 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) direct reduced iron (DRI) announced iron plant in unknown, unknown, South Korea.
Location
The map below shows the location of the steel plant in unknown, unknown, South Korea.
Background
In February 2023, South Korean Trade and Industry Ministry (Motie) announced the country's plans to decarbonise South Korean steel sector. This involves setting up of a hydrogen direct reduction technology-based demonstration plant of capacity 1 mtpa by 2030.[2][3] The plan also envisages the commercialisation of a 3 mtpa capacity reactor.[4]
