The mine, also known as Srirampur Opencast Coal Mine-II, has a design capacity of 2.5 MTPA over an area of 707.63 Ha. It is operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India. The project received its environment clearance for 2.5 MTPA on 11 July, 2008[5]
