Surjagad Ispat Gadchiroli steel plant is a steel plant in Aheri, Wadlapeth, Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, India that operates steelmaking, direct reduced iron (DRI), and induction furnace (IF) technology.
Surjagad Ispat Pvt Ltd was established in 2023 to set up an integrated steel plant at Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, India.[1] The proposed plant encompasses multiple components including sponge iron units, induction furnace, rolling mill and a captive power plant.[2] The first phase is slated to commence by 2026, with the entire project expected to be completed by 2027.[1][3] The foundation stone of the plant was laid on 17 July, 2024.[4]
By August 2025, the INR 10,000 crore proposed project cleared its environmental public hearing.[5]
