Background

In June 2020, KPMG Restructuring practice appointed Joint Administrators of Calon Energy Limited.[1]

In August 2020, Severn Power, along with Severn power station, was put into a "dormant state” by administrators in order to "allow more time to recover costs for creditors" as they were not currently generating sufficient returns to remain operational.[2] In March 2021, the plant remained in its dormant state.[3] Calon Energy directors regained control of the plant in May of 2021[4] and in October 15 2021, it was reported that they had plans to bring the plants back online by December 2021.[5]
