Background
Tangshan Guotang Steel Co., Ltd. Retreat and Relocation Environmental Protection Upgrade Project, located in Leting Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of 14.03 billion yuan, covering an area of 4,800 acres. The project mainly includes the construction of two 1,580m³ blast furnaces, two 150-ton converters, and supporting coke ovens for recycling; one 300-square-meter sintering machine, one 240-square-meter sintering machine, and one 1.2 million-ton annual production line of pellet ore rotary kilns, with a construction area of 2.823 million square meters. After completion, the main equipment capacity of the project will be 2.66 million tons of iron, 3 million tons of steel, and 1.76 million tons of coke. It will achieve full coverage of bar, section steel, and strip steel products, with an annual output value of 11.07 billion yuan, tax revenue of 880 million yuan, and is expected to provide more than 4,000 job opportunities. The first phase of the project is expected to be put into operation in September 2022, and the second phase is expected to be put into operation in November 2022.[1][2]
The second phase of the company’s relocation and environmental upgrade project achieved interim completion and passed environmental protection acceptance in 2024.[3]
