Tianjin Iron Plant (天津市新天钢钢铁集团, 天津铁厂有限公司), also known as New Tianjin Steel Group, is a steel plant in Gengle, She, Handan, Hebei, China that operates blast furnace (BF) and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) technology.

Background
The company’s CDQ supporting projects are progressing slowly, and there is a lack of occupational health and safety management system, quality management system, and environmental management system certificates within the validity period. At present, the company has been included in the list of steel companies to be rectified due to quality, safety and environmental issues.[1]
According to the announcement of the capacity replacement plan, the company plans to build a 110-ton BOF and two 1780m3 blast furnaces, which are expected to be put into operation in 2022. At the same time, four existing 700-ton blast furnaces and one 45-ton BOF are eliminated.[2][3]
The total investment is 1.5 billion yuan, covering an area of approximately 450 mu (30 hectares), with a total construction area of 80,000 square meters. Currently(2023), the ironmaking project of the project has been put into production.[4]
The first phase of the company's 1780m3 blast furnace has been put into production, the second phase of the 1780m3 blast furnace under construction in 2023.[5]
