Background
The company plans to build one 70-ton electric arc furnace and one 100-ton electric arc furnace in 2021 to replace one 120-ton BOF.[1] The environmental impact report of the project was approved in October 2022.[2] On June 24th, 2023, State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company successfully delivered electricity to the Rongcheng Steel 220 kV User Station, providing strong power support for the "Dual Carbon Transformation and Electric Furnace Upgrade" project of the Tianjin Rongcheng Steel Group.[3]
