Background

As of 2020, the mine was still producing although only 3,000 tonnes per month (that's 36,000 tonnes per annum).[2]

The mine was flooded in April 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "Everything has drowned - together with pumps and energy equipment". Due to Russian shelling, it was impossible to maintain water pumping anymore.[3]

The mines of Pervomaiskugol jointly produced 0.17 Mt in 2021.[4]
