Tosyali-SULB Benghazi steel plant (توسيالي - صلب) is a steel plant in Benghazi, Ras Al-Manqar, Libya that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) and direct reduced iron (DRI) technology.

Background

In 2024, the Turkish company Tosyali and the Libya United Steel Company for Iron and Steel (SULB) announced they would construct a plant east of Benghazi.[1] The three-phase plan for the plant would make it the largest Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) production site in the world, at 8.1 million tons annual in capacity.[2][3]
