Background

In April 2025, Vardhaman Special Steels announced a greenfield plant in Ludhiana, Punjab, with a capacity of 500 thousand tonnes per annum of billet production, at an estimated cost of INR 2,000 crores. The project is expected to produce green steel and to be commissioned by FY 2029-30.[1][2][3]
