Background

Viking Gas Transmission is operated by Viking Gas Pipeline, LLC, which is owned by ONEOK Partners.[1]

The Dakota Natural Gas Pipeline, intended for operation in late 2021, connects to the Viking Gas Transmission's terminal in Minnesota, bringing natural gas to customers in North Dakota.

Accident

On May 25, 2014, a section of the pipeline exploded in an area three miles north of Warren, MN.[5] Witnesses described the explosion as "a big ball of fire shooting into the air."[5]
