Background

The Vostochny coal mine (Salek) (разрез Восточный -  Салек) is a surface mine in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia. 

The mine is not to be confused with the Vostochny coal mine in Russia or the Vostochny coal mine (Kazakhstan). The mine is owned and operated by Salek JSC, which is owned by SDS UGOL, a subsidiary of Siberian Business Union-Coal.[3]

There is very limited information on this mine. It was launched in 2010 by SDS Ugol.

The mine's capacity is stated at 4.3 million tonnes on the company's website (accessed in July 2023).[4]
