Background

Construction of the pipeline began in March 2011. It will eventually connect to the Sino-Myanmar Gas Pipeline.[1] The pipeline began operating in 2012.[1]14 cities and 51 counties in Guangxi will receive gas supply through dedicated branches from this pipeline, forming a provincial gas pipeline network. [1]

广西天然气支线管网项目将建设14条地级城市天然气专供管道和51条县级支线管道,管道累计长度2835公里,配套建设分输站74座、CNG母站11座,工程总投资约58亿元。继贵港和南宁之后,梧州和玉林市也将在2013年陆续建成天然气专供管道及分输站。各有关方面表示力争在2014年底前实现广西14个地级市全部通气,2015年前后实现“县县通”。[1]
