Background

This pipeline will connect to the West Delta LNG Deepwater Port Terminal. It was proposed along with the terminal in 2019.[1] LNG 21 applied for the deepwater port license in August 2019, but since has failed to meet various deadlines to submit additional information required by the Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the U.S. Coast Guard. Nearly two dozen environmental and grassroots groups have urged the denial of federal license for the port and pipeline in February 2023.[4]
