West Well of Sihe Coal Mine (山西晋城无烟煤矿业集团有限责任公司寺河煤矿西井) is an underground mine, located in Jiafeng Town, Qinshui County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, China.[1]

Coal Mine Background

The Sihe Coal Mine is operated by Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd.(Formal Name: Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd.) It is located at the southeast edge of Qinshui Coalfield, bounded by the Qinhe and Houyue Railways. The east well is on the east side and the west well is on the west side. The mine adopts a joint development method. The downhole production systems of each well area are independent of each other. The current production capacity of Sihe Mine is 9.00Mt/a, of which 4.00Mt/a in the West Well and 5.00Mt/a in the East Well.[2] The construction of Sihe Coal Mine started in December 1996 and was officially put into production in January 2002. In 2008, the reconstruction and expansion (Phase II) project started construction (now West Well), and passed the completion acceptance in 2013.[3] On January 8, 2018, a belt conveyor wounding accident occurred in the west well of Sihe Coal Mine, resulting in 1 death.[3]
