İDÇ Izdemir Aliaga steel plant (İZMİR DEMİR ÇELİK SANAYİ A.Ş. (İDÇ – İZDEMİR)), also known as Izmir Demir Celik, is a steel plant in Aliağa, İzmir, Türkiye that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş (İDÇ) is a Turkish steel company with a subsidiary İzdemir Enerji which operates İzdemir Enerji power station.[1]

İDÇ was established in 1975, and the steel making plant began in 1987.[2]

Steel scrap

İDÇ Izdemir steel plant reportedly uses 100% scrap steel charge in its electric arc furnace.[3]

İDÇ operates an on-site scrap yard with 200,000 tonne capacity.[4]
