Background

The Argent Colliery was a proposed opencast coal mine in Mpumalanga, South Africa.[4]

In 2019, it was reported that the mine was still awaiting approval for several mine use licenses in order to commence production.[5] As there have been no known public updates since then, the coal mine is presumed cancelled. Plans for the Argent Colliery were proposed by the South African coal-focused company, The Puckree Group, around 2014.[4]

The project's mine life was estimated to be 5 years.[4]
