Chulmanskaya power station (Чульманская ТЭЦ) is a 48-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Sakha Republic, Russia.

Background on Plant

The 48-MW Chulmanskaya power station is owned by Far Eastern Generating Company, which in turn is owned by RusHydro.

The plant's four 12MW units went online in between 1970-1978.

Planned retirement

In May 2021, it was reported that when the expansion of Neryungrinskaya power station comes online, the Chulmanskaya power plant will be decommissioned. The heating needs for the settlement of Chulman will be covered by a new gas-fired boiler.

The government decree from February 2022 lists units 3,5, and 6 for planned retirement already by 2023, ahead of the planned commissioning of the new units at Neryingrinskaya in 2025. This would leave only 12MW of available capacity at Chulmanskaya power station.

The plant generated 100 million kWh of electricity in 2020.
