Background

Compas SA's Tolú terminal is a multipurpose export and import facility that began commercial operations in 2013.[1][2] The terminal's modern infrastructure includes a direct loading system for coal, other mineral bulk cargoes, and coke, as well as a mechanized unloading system for food-grade bulk cargoes, utilizing an enclosed conveyor belt that prevents the emission of particulate matter into the atmosphere.[3]

Coal handling capacity

According to Colombia's national mining agency, the Compas Tolú terminal has an annual coal handling capacity of 2.1 Mtpa.[4] Compas SA's website reports a capacity of 2.5 Mtpa for all types of cargo combined.[3]
