Gerdau Petersburg Steel Mill, also known as Gerdau Chaparral Steel, is a 1000 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Petersburg, Virginia, United States.

Background

The Gerdau Petersburg Steel Mill was originally owned by Chaparral Steel but was acquired by Gerdau in 2007 when Gerdau acquired the company and its assets.[2]

In April 2021, the plant completed a $33 million retrofit project.[3]
