The M. V. Frunze coal mine is an underground coal mine. It used to be owned and operated by DTEK Rovenky Anthracite LLC, a subsidiary of DTEK Energy B.V. DTEK lost control of the company in 2017 and eventually the control over the mine transitioned to Republic Fuel Company Vostokugol State Enterprise, owned by the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the unrecognized Luhansk People's Republic.
